SUMMARY:
Provide maximum service to the membership by accurately and effectively handling outage and trouble reports and service complaints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies, procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Ensures public safety at all times by advising members of potential electrical dangers, recommends proper action and councils members with any problems.
- Ensures safe working conditions by dispatching accurate and timely information to field crews and line personnel.
- Ensures minimum outage time by processing outage reports and dispatching crews in a timely fashion.
- Ensures the efficiency and accuracy of dispatch office by entering correct information in OMS, CIS, and other reports as required. This includes but is not limited to proper cause and equipment codes, correct billing data, etc.
- Has the ability to perform switching following both Cotton Electric Cooperative and Western Farmers Electric Cooperative’s rules and procedures.
- Maintains a general knowledge of all related electrical services provided by the Cooperative.
- Saves the Cooperative money by making efficient use of cooperative time and resources.
- Increases the Cooperative efficiency by performing other duties as requested.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must have the ability to read and follow general written instructions. Must be able to complete work orders and communicate in written form. Must have working knowledge of PC’s and of the Main Frame computers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical - everyday problems. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A valid driver’s license is required.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must have a certain amount of “people skills.” Ability to perform assigned task in a manner that is non-offensive to co-workers or the general public.

The employee shall have sufficient hearing to be able to hear the telephones and radios. This job requires the regular use of hands and fingers to be able to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls. Must be able to see and read maps. Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 25lbs.
