Minimum starting pay for this position is $35.77 per hour or commensurate with experience.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for 24/7 system operations including monitoring, operating and maintaining Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition equipment that regulates or distributes electricity, using data obtained from the SCADA system or computers, wiring in substations, testing SCADA equipment and documenting electrical schematics for system operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support SCADA and Security system integrity and ensures the highest operational reliability and system availability on a 24hour/7day a week basis.
Install, enhance, troubleshoot, calibrate and repair systems and SCADA equipment
Install and terminate optical fiber, twisted pair, multi-pair and communications cables
Conduct high voltage switching under direct supervision.
Install, wire, program and maintain SCADA equipment in substations
Assist with perform trip checks, point- to- point checks, circuit analysis and in-service checks of substation equipment.
Perform maintenance to ensure safety and integrity of equipment.
Maintain communication with remote terminal units and line devices.
Perform upgrades, troubleshooting and repairs to substation equipment, RTU’s and other devices
Perform emergency call out for SCADA.
Perform station switching as necessary under direct supervision for testing of SCADA controlled station equipment
Adhere to applicable NERC policies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data or processing information
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
Knowledge of instrumentation and network troubleshooting tools including multi-meter, watt meter, etc.
Knowledge of National Electric Safety Code and electrical utility operational procedures
Knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting process control instrumentation
Knowledge of instrumentation and network troubleshooting tools
Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and measurement systems.
Skilled in mathematical abilities
Skilled in time management
Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
Ability to install and maintain fiber optic cable, twisted pair cable, and multi-pair cable.
