Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) is looking to hire a full-time regular seasonal Right of Way Maintenance Specialist- Operator located in Fairbanks, AK. This is an IBEW position that earns a competitive wage and excellent benefits.

GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,261 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 35 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. Powering the Interior of Alaska, GVEA contributes to the economic, environmental, and social viability of our communities.

The Right of Way Maintenance Specialist- Operator access, inspect and maintain right of ways by clearing brush and trees before they cause outages and damage equipment. They operate brush mower and/or side trimmer and perform hand clearing work as directed. Some other duties include performing maintenance on machine and operating tractor trailers to move machines.
Our Right of Way Maintenance Specialist- Operator play an important role in GVEA's ability to serve the Healy community and the Interior of Alaska in providing reliable electric service at fair and reasonable prices!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN RIGHT OF WAY MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST-OPERATOR
· High School diploma or equivalent
· A valid Alaska driver's license and Class A CDL is required.
· ICC Certificate is required.
· Utility Line Clearance certification is preferred.

Previous work experience in a technical field would be preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Do you have the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment? Are you familiar with felling and pruning techniques? Can you work in a group? Are you dependable and trustworthy? If so, you might just be perfect for this position!

WORK SCHEDULE
This position typically works Monday through Thursday 6:30AM to 5:00PM.
