Fleet Services Technician

Exhibiting stewardship for the cooperative, the Fleet Services Technician professionally represents the Loss Control department by performing the day-to-day operations such as: providing maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment to increase reliability and carrying out the objectives and goals of the department.

Core Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities described below are the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be all inclusive for this position.
- Performs proper inspection, testing and maintenance on all company vehicles and equipment.
- Performs major and minor repairs on vehicles and equipment in shop and field.
- Maintain vehicle records by tracking vehicle problems, service and repairs.
- Updates job knowledge of vehicle changes and new technology available.
- Equip new vehicles for appropriate function (i.e. install radios, lights, wire and ladder racks, etc.)
- Order and pick-up replacement parts for fleet vehicles/equipment.
- Research, present and apply better ways to maintain vehicles. Spec CREC vehicles to best fit our needs.

- This is a safety sensitive position.
- Reports to Fleet Mechanic
- Decisions and duties are highly structured and reviewed and have a controlled impact on the organization. Work requires a moderate degree of responsibility for information, technology and/or equipment.
- Position has no formal supervisory responsibility for the work of others.

Specific requirements and competencies include:
- Solid Educational Background – high school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of relative work experience required which can include automotive/diesel, and heavy-equipment systems
- Must be familiar with D.O.T. safety requirements
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified or possess the ability to obtain such certification within one year of
employment.
- Must have and maintain a valid Oklahoma "Class A" Commercial Driver's License and meet all D.O.T. requirements.
- Must possess an effective working knowledge of engine trouble-shooting, vehicle/equipment electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems.

Heavy physical exertion required for this position.
