Vice President and Controller

CFC has a need for a Vice President and Controller in the Treasury and Finance group. In this position you will have the opportunity to oversee and direct the organization’s operational accounting, loan accounting, external reporting, tax reporting, financial planning & forecast, and strategic planning functions, to ensure that the company is in compliance with SEC, US GAAP standards, IRS and SOX regulations.

As a Vice President and Controller, you will:

• Ensure that the company’s financial statements and disclosures are in compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations and preparation of all SEC required filings.
• Ensure that the company is in compliance with all federal and state tax regulations and preparation of all required tax returns.
• Establish and maintain the company’s accounting policies, practices, procedures, internal controls and initiatives.
• Direct efforts of accounting staff, including operational accounting and loan accounting services, in the daily transaction processing, cash reconciliation, accounts payable, month end close process, and general ledger accounting, 
• Responsible for the monthly production of consolidated and stand-alone financial statements and footnotes for CFC and its affiliates. 
• Coordinate the external auditor review of accounting policies, internal controls over financial reporting, quarterly reviews of SEC form 10-Q, the annual audit and filing of the Form 10-K.
• Oversee financial planning & forecast functions and the development of financial models. 
• Develop and mentors Accounting staff.
• Oversee and is responsible for the development of the annual operating budget plan for CFC and its affiliates. 
• Chair company’s disclosure committee and leads pre-filing communications to the Board of Directors.
• Provide financial updates to company’s Board of Directors as needed.

To be successful, you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, MBA preferred. 
• CPA designation required. 
• 10-15 years of Accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience desired. 
• Prior experience managing an accounting function in a public company.
• Experience in the interpretation and practical application of US GAAP accounting.
• Experience working in a financial services organization desired. 
• Experience in the development of corporate accounting policies desired. 
• Expert MS Office skills and abilities. 
• Familiar with financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Proven leadership and management abilities.
