Job Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing support to the firm's existing equity capabilities. Works closely with the portfolio management team to support the co-management of the funds and contribute to the credible and structured investment process. Works in collaboration with the team and communicates effectively with both a retail and institutional client base.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and monitors developments that impact portfolio holdings for the firm's equity funds.
- Identifies and recommends new investment ideas that generate alpha for the portfolios.
- Works in close coordination and partnership with all investment staff and provides support for the firm's portfolio managers.
- Monitors and reports on market and economic conditions, selection of appropriate investments, and structuring and executing transactions.
- Analyzes and reports on the performance of the portfolios relative to their respective benchmarks, including risk-adjusted returns vs. the objective, performance attribution, and expected and actual tracking error and any other factors deemed appropriate.
- Proactively, clearly, and concisely communicates investment recommendations to the investment team.
- Contributes to firm's disciplined investment philosophy and new product development efforts.
- Participates in representing Homestead at various conferences, advisory boards and committees, and before the investment community.
- Establishes and maintains professional contacts within the equity markets to further develop market knowledge and expertise.
- Collaborates on portfolio strategy and construction and risk oversight, marketing initiatives, and engages in client servicing activities.
- Responsible for the proper security and disposal of any confidential information that he or she may possess in the course of performing this position's job duties, in accordance with NRECA's Personnel & Administrative Policy and HIPPA Privacy and Security Policies & Procedures Manuals.

Qualifications
Formal Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field. Master's degree in Finance preferred.
Experience and Certifications Required:
0-2 years of relevant financial/investment course work experience.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required ( as demonstrated by prior work experience ) :
- Knowledge of investment theory and economics, equity, fixed income and alternative investments, asset allocation, performance measurement, attribution analysis, customized benchmarking, and various models used to obtain such information.
- Knowledge of competitive products in regard to investment options, pricing, performance benchmarking and service levels.
- Interpersonal skills, member service orientation and ability to effectively work and interact in a collaborative environment with a team of professionals.
- Ability to build and sustain strategic relationships with key internal decision makers, members, staff and the public.
- Ability to identify and solve the most complex problems and use ground-breaking methods to think beyond existing solutions.
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees and/or vendors in a clear and precise manner.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) in the day-to-day essential duties of the job.
- Ability to operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, fax machine or other job-related equipment.
- Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, being resourceful, responsive and respectful.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
