To ensure the stability and integrity of the Cooperative’s systems by planning, installing, supporting, and optimizing all local and cloud corporate servers, associated software, communication links, and components (UPSs, and other associated hardware).
Effectively perform the following functions:
Establish, maintain, and monitor connectivity to the corporate networked device and ensuring available bandwidth for core business functions.
Restrict unwarranted access to networked devices while providing and maintaining the necessary security to protect the Cooperative’s networked systems from malicious threats.
Maintain optimal performance and availability by analyzing networked systems traffic, tuning performance, and making recommendations to improve reliability where possible.
Troubleshoot network issues resolving server, wide-area, and local-area network outage and performance issues and escalating problems to vendor when necessary.
Collaborate with management and department leaders to design and establish server solutions and assess near- and long-term capacity needs.
Continuously evaluate corporate needs to determine when upgrades of equipment and/or services will be required while staying informed and evaluating the latest technologies for possible application within the Cooperative.
Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure replacing equipment and components when necessary.
Develop and implement procedures and guidelines for asset management including inventory maintenance, related documentation, and technical specifications.
Educate end-users by designing and conducting training programs on the procedures and guidelines relating to system administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Develop and administer all back up procedures for servers including data at a secure offsite storage facility.
Assist third-party vendors needing access or interconnectivity with any of the interdepartmental hosts, servers, or local/wide area networks to obtain as smooth and seamless a connection as possible.
Report any network use to the Manager of Information Technology that might be deemed in violation of Company policy.
Demonstrate empathy and responsiveness to internal and external customer needs by being timely and following through on requests.
Document infrastructure and topology, updating annually
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
Minimum of five years related work experience; 4 additional years of related work experience may be substituted for Bachelor Degree.
Progression to Level II will be at management’s discretion.
Requires proven expertise in the fundamentals of LANs and advanced knowledge of server hardware and software.
Requires proven expertise in intermediate fundamentals of servers, switches, and routers.
Requires the capability of performing job duties with little or no supervision.
Must have experience with Dell hardware, LAN/WAN fundamentals, and Windows Server 2016
Prefer experience with Windows Server 2019, Cisco phone system, Quest Rapid Recovery Software, Quest Kace, SEDC, HP Nimble SAN, VMware, DR Planning
