Electrical Engineer I - This position is responsible for entry-level engineering work related to transmission system protection, controls, metering, and for tracking, logging, and reporting equipment outages and operations for the Basin Electric transmission system. This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related position, which may allow physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems.
Electrical Engineer II - This position is responsible for engineering work related to transmission system protection, controls, metering, and for tracking, logging, and reporting equipment outages and operations for the Basin Electric transmission system. Electrical Engineer III - This position is assigned to projects requiring review of specifications, design philosophy, and drawings, along with the requirement for completion of facility commissioning checklists, procedures, testing files, record drawings, and energization procedures for assigned projects. This position requires the ability to plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work pertaining to the system protection and control systems for the Basin Electric Transmission System and to provide support for operations and field personnel with diagnosing and repairing transmission facility equipment in order to maintain the integrity of the Bulk Electric System (BES). This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related position, which may allow physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems.
Qualifications:
Electrical Engineer I - To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have broad technical knowledge and skills which are acquired through the completion of a four-year degree from an Engineering Accreditation Commission/Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredited electrical engineering program. The incumbent must have the ability to demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills and must be proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. A valid driver’s license in the state of residence is also required.
Electrical Engineer II - To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have knowledge of engineering principles and practices, which is acquired through the completion of a four-year degree from an Engineering Accreditation Commission/Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredited electrical engineering program and three years of related engineering experience. An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate is required. The ability to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills is also required. The incumbent must be proficient with personal computers and Microsoft
Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. A valid driver’s license in the state of residence is also required.

An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate or Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) certificate is required. A valid driver’s license in the state of residence is also required.
Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:
This position requires frequent sitting; and occasional standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crawling, use of keyboard/computer, pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Requires finger dexterity, good hearing and color vision, and the ability to perform close work. Requires the ability to analyze data/reports and conduct research; implement recommendations; develop plans, procedures, and goals; and present information to others. May be required to work under pressure due to conflicting priorities and deadlines. Occasionally works in conditions of dirt/dust, fumes, chemicals, extreme heat and cold, vibration, noise, poor ventilation, electrical risks, and confined areas. May be required to occasionally work at heights up to 50 feet, which requires the use of safety equipment, including a harness, in accordance with ANSI Z359 standards. Travel to plant sites and substations are required, either by operating a motor vehicle or traveling in Cooperative or commercial aircraft. Equipment operated includes computers, various control devices, electrical test equipment, and normal shop tools.
