Provides energy efficiency technical assistance to CoServ residential accounts. Serves as a resource for Member on-site energy efficiency evaluations. Receives training and obtains certifications necessary to provide advice on energy management strategies.
Primary Position Responsibilities
Reviews and analyzes residential energy consumption data.
Prepares energy management recommendations for residential Members.
Conducts residential energy assessments-inspects house inside and out, inspects equipment such as HVAC, water heater, furnace, fans and water pumps. Checks insulation, weather stripping, lighting, windows and attic ventilation.
Interprets energy audit data in order to make energy-savings recommendations.
Investigates high-bill complaints.
Attends public and private meetings during working hours and after working hours such as Chambers of Commerce meetings, energy management conferences, Home & Apartment Association meetings and other related organizations.
Assists in providing training to the public on energy efficiency measures using CoServ’s mobile energy Education Trailer.
Performs energy efficiency presentations to CoServ Members and employees
Assists in projects that support CoServ’s goals and activities.
Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.
Secondary Position Responsibilities
Attends regular Energy Efficiency and CoServ all-employee meetings.
Completes minimum CoServ University training requirements.
Prepares in a timely manner all required and requested reports – monthly activities, time sheets, expense forms, etc.
Reads periodicals and journals related to the industry and assigned duties.
Attends Safety Meetings as directed.
Performs other duties and activities as directed.

Position Requirements
Education and Certifications Required
High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.
Education and Certifications Preferred
Formal training specific to energy efficiency.
Experience Required
Two (2) years in electric utility, electrical, home inspection, or customer service
CPR certification and First Aid training or obtain within 6 months of employment
Experience Preferred
Knowledge of cooperative philosophy, history and objectives.
Knowledge of the National Electric Code.
Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to prepare and deliver oral and written communications.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Ability to work in an office and field environment.
Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, and in teams.
Ability to utilize standard office/business equipment.
Must wear Personal Protection Equipment when on jobsite in the field.
Ability to use blower door equipment, infrared cameras, multi-meters, and other equipment necessary to perform tasks related to the job.

Works in areas with possible exposure to poison oak, poison ivy, and insect stings.

Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver's license.
Successful completion of criminal background check required by law (20 year history on felonies and 10 year history on misdemeanors).
