Mountain Parks Electric, Inc. (MPEI) has an immediate job opening for the position of Journeyman Lineworker located at our company headquarters in Granby, CO. MPEI is an electrical cooperative located in Granby in the north central mountains of Colorado.
Must be a graduate of an approved electric distribution-training program and have four (4) years’ minimum experience or 8500 hours of on the job training, or have proof that they are a recognized Journeyman Lineman at another utility or have a recognized Journeyman Lineman Certificate. Must have and maintain a valid Class A CDL (commercial driver's license) in Colorado. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Linemen must reside within a 45-minute response time of service area center.
The position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:
Constructs underground and overhead distribution lines which include and not limited to; excavating pole and anchor holes, framing poles, setting poles and installing anchors, stringing, sagging, armor rod installation, and connecting of conductors, excavating for; cable trenches, pad mount gear, and other underground equipment, installation of underground equipment; transformers, switch gear, sector cabinets, vaults, and many other tasks related to new construction. (Energized and de-energized)
Maintains underground and overhead, primary and secondary distribution electrical system by replacing transformers, breakers, regulators, conductors, insulators, meter loops, poles, switching or sectionalizing gear and related equipment on energized and de-energized lines. Live line maintenance completed with the use of insulated cover-up and hot sticks. Underground primary and secondary facilities located, troubleshoot faults and repair damaged facilities.
Performs various duties related to member service including reading of meters, making service changes, troubleshooting service outages, making delinquent account collections and carries out voltage tests and completes outage reports.
Performs related duties daily including taking of inventory, accounting for materials used, loading and unloading materials, and inspecting distribution lines as part of MPE’s preventative maintenance program.
Strives to maintain good member relations by providing service requested, answering questions and offering assistance.
Maintains a safe working environment by adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations.
Accepts overtime and call-outs as requested.
Instructs and trains apprentices in all phases of overhead and underground work performed by linemen.
Participates fully as a crewmember in all job discussions.
Responsible for the proper care of all equipment used to perform job.
Installs, maintains, and removes street lighting equipment.
Occasionally trims trees around primary and secondary distribution lines.

Compensation Range $34.76-$55.55 per hour depending on experience.
