Mountain View Electric Association is actively seeking an Apprentice Lineworker.
To be considered for this position applicants must have an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Linework or a Certificate from an accredited Lineman Training School, and a Colorado Class A Commercial Drivers License. Additional work experience and at least one year experience as an Apprentice Lineworker with an electric utility is preferred. Job Summary: The Apprentice Lineworker will be responsible for learning the fundamentals of the lineman trade by performing the following duties in accordance with the apprenticeship program steps prescribed in the apprentice training document and work guidelines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Construct underground and overhead electrical lines.
- Digging pole and anchor holes, framing poles, setting poles and anchors, stringing, sagging and connecting overhead conductor.
- Opening and closing trenches.
- Installing pad mount switch gear and underground conductor.
- Locating underground cables. Determining faults in damaged cables.
- Stock trucks with tools and materials.
- Ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations of the Cooperative's overhead and underground distribution system.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow operational procedures, safety manual procedures, and policies.
- Good attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent ability to communicate clearly and professionally with members, co-workers, contractors and others.
- Must be trained and be able to demonstrate proficiency in poletop, bucket and confined space rescue to established standards.
- Must have a valid Colorado Class A Commercial Drivers License.
- Be available for on-call and standby duty as required.
- Must be proficient at operating a computer, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
The pay range for this position is between $32.29 and 49.68 per hour.
