The role of the Business Data Analyst is to collaborate with business partners to design and deliver business systems and data analytics capabilities that support business strategy and meet data-driven decision-making objectives.
Essential Functions:
Partner with management and business units to enable the vision and delivery of a data-driven organization.
Lead project delivery on new business systems and data analytics.
Determine, manage and leverage internal and external data sources, including Big Data and the use of cloud platforms, building robust, scalable data pipelines and integrated datasets.
Select and implement business intelligence platforms and capabilities that increase the utilization and consumption of business data.
Prototype and design dashboards and reporting for use by management and business units, creating innovative and useful visuals.
Create programming code using tools such as SQL, Python, and R, for data transformation, staging, and ad hoc processes.
Provide complex analytical reporting and analysis with summarized key insights and recommendations to improve and optimize business performance.
Increase employee adoption and usage of beneficial business applications and data analytics.
Ensure the quality, integrity, and accuracy of enterprise and consumer data.
As required, perform supervisory, guidance, mentoring, and training of other assigned Technology resources.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
8+ years experience as a business, systems, or data analyst, including requirements gathering/analysis, application programming and database design.
5+ years experience with designing and deploying reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
5+ years experience with data analytics and statistical languages and tools, such as Python, R, SQL, Java, Tableau, Power BI, Cognos BI, SAS, Business Objects
Experience in complex problem-solving.
Experience in leading projects that deliver high-value business and technical solutions.
Experience working with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
Experience with data exchange, including APIs and tools such as JSON, XML, and MultiSpeak.
Experience with Big Data, including the use of cloud platforms, such as Azure and AWS.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Utility industry experience preferred; strong preference toward electric cooperative experience
