Primary Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, move or remove transformers, security lights, service drops, poles, conductors, capacitors, regulators, OCRs, or any other line equipment.
Perform work from a bucket at various heights, in addition to climbing poles.
Perform “hotline” work on all lines and voltages of the Cooperative, following prescribed methods and procedures.
Must be FKEC certified for working in or out of the bucket.
Locate and repair trouble on overhead and underground distribution and transmission lines and equipment, making them safe against possible damage to life or property pending permanent repair.
Ensure jobs are completed as safely and quickly and as possible.
Run services, set, remove, connect and disconnect meters.
Must be knowledgeable of underground locations of septic tanks, water lines, etc., when setting up to perform work.
Responsible for the performance of assigned work in accordance with FKEC standards and procedures.
Prepare necessary reports and records in, including staking sheets, time and vehicle reports.
Direct and instruct First Class and Apprentice Lineman and Journeyman as required.
Ensure public and crew safety at all times.
Ensure safety rules and requirements are followed.
Must be knowledgeable of operation of various machinery and equipment required to perform job duties.
Perform “on call” duty assignments 24 hours a day when on call, as required.
Trim back trees/shrubs when necessary to perform required maintenance.
Read meters, make collections and investigate consumer complaints.
Perform maintenance on water crossing structures when required.
Operate fault finding equipment for underground lines.
Pull cables, splice and make cable connections.
Must be knowledgeable of and understand REA Specifications.
Make tests on cable of any voltage and installs cables, potheads, transformers, network protectors and overhead and underground electrical equipment, manholes, vaults and ducts.
Responsible for notifying warehouse of materials used or retired.

Communications – Ensure all communications internally and externally are provided in a timely and professional manner. Must possess strong communications skills to effectively interact with all other FKEC departments.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Training and Experience: Completion of recognized Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship program, and experience working as a Journeyman Lineman.
Must posses a valid Class A CDL. If Class A CDL is not issued by the state of Florida, must be able to transfer to the State of Florida.
