JOB SUMMARY
The Systems Administrator is responsible for configuring and maintaining the networked computer system, including hardware, system software, and applications. Ensuring data is stored securely and backed up regularly. Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise.
Essential Functions
Performs administrative tasks in VDI (virtual desktop infrastructure) to maintain server infrastructure and to ensure optimal performance and maintain systems to attain maximum uptime.
Build strong relationships with vendors and respond and communicate on network and infrastructure configuration, troubleshooting, questions, and inquiries.
Build and install computer infrastructure, which encompasses hardware, servers, and virtual machines, using a VMware environment. Configure for production by creating user accounts, controlling access to networks, and managing storage and security settings.
Install, administer, and troubleshoot network security solutions. Update software with the latest security patches and ensure the proper defenses are present for each network resource. Perform vulnerability and penetration tests, identifying and defending against threats, and develop disaster recovery plans. Configure security systems, analyze security requirements, and recommend improvements, monitoring network traffic for suspicious behavior. Creating network policies and authorization roles and defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
Performs administrative tasks and maintenance of VOIP telephony systems to support call center operations. Coordinates with vendor support to ensure systems are operational and updated.
Manages the mail server and provides support to users. Create accounts for new hires and develop policy settings for different departments. Troubleshooting incoming and outbound messages.
Administers and supports core infrastructure technologies such as Microsoft Active Directory domains, virtualization hypervisors and management tools, Cisco routing and switching, and various server applications.
Assists with help-desk services to provide support for end users; prioritizes service requests to provide efficient service to end users.
Performs work according to applicable Federal and State safety regulations as well as LREMC policies, procedures, work practices and Safety Manual.
Required to perform any other duties assigned in order to fulfill the objectives of the Cooperative.
Maintains a friendly cooperative relationship with all employees, members, general public and other utilities, when performing responsibilities while promoting the Cooperative's mission and positive image.

Work Experience & Education
3-5 years - Experience in the administration of operating systems, servers, and applications
Bachelor's Degree - Network Administration, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

CompTIA A+ Certification
CompTIA Network+ Certification
Cisco CCNA network certification
