Great Lakes Energy is searching for an experienced Director of Human Resources to join our senior management team. As a not-for-profit cooperative utility serving northern and western Michigan, GLE seeks to empower and enrich our members' lives with reliable electric and high-speed fiber internet service. The Director will lead our HR team to develop and ensure effective implementation of plans, systems, policies and processes for labor relations, talent acquisition and development, legal compliance, total rewards (compensation and benefits), and employee engagement. Our successful candidate will collaborate with the management team to build consensus and commitment toward shared business objectives and outcomes to achieve our vision, mission and goals.

The ideal candidate for Director of Human Resources will have bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration, strong business acumen and leadership demonstration, and 10 or more years of HR experience including two years of department-head experience. Senior professional HR certification such as SPHR, SHRM-SCP or the ability to quickly obtain such certification is required.
