Delivers material to warehouse and customer locations; ensures that delivery information and reports are completed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from distribution centers and customer locations in a safe, timely, efficient, and courteous manner.
Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and report all maintenance requests (preventative and necessary)
Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
Document and log work/rest periods and mileage spent driving according to DOT regulations for drivers’ logs.
Retain fuel/toll receipts; report travel expenses
Comply with DOT rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
Collect and verify delivery instructions
Report defects, incidents, accidents or violations
Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication
Will assist in handling, loading and receiving material at warehouses.
Maintain a clean driving record
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
1 year of experience with tractor-trailer Class A CDL license
Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to diverse characters
Flexibility based on customer needs; emergency situations may call for some overnights/weekends (10-15%)
Territory primarily in KY(may be required to travel outside of these areas if needed)
Able to pass all DOT requirements
BENEFITS
Salary based, typical schedule 40-45 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, at home most evenings/weekends (may be required to work some weekends during emergencies)
