Maintain all general facilities, grounds and other assigned areas in a neat, orderly and functioning manner. Monitor and maintain BPTs (Bill Payment Terminals), security systems, access-control systems, and drive-through equipment. The maintenance can vary in scope which may include plumbing, lighting maintenance, small electrical projects, installing furniture and other duties as required or directed.
Essential Functions:
Maintain the BPTs, security and video systems and other related equipment to assure these devices are working and reliable.
Extensive utilization of computer system and dedicated programs in use and application for BPTs, security cameras and general data equipment, etc. Install operating software and peripheral equipment, checking that all components are configured to function together correctly.
Connect equipment to power sources and communication lines that allow the transmission of information over the co-op's communications network.
Ensure that all safeguards are put in place to protect the health of the network from any of our peripheral devices that may provide a path for lighting to the communication equipment and/or power source.
Maintain operational capabilities of computer systems and data transmitting equipment, using preventive maintenance procedures as well as troubleshooting techniques. Also maintain cleanliness, signage, and other cosmetic details on the BPT equipment.
Maintain and update local, as well as remote time and temperature signs as needed.
Coordinate with Purchasing Department for securing bids for facility projects and coordinate activities and duties with outside contractors as necessary.
Responsible for Life Safety Services and (i.e., fire alarm, sprinkler systems, AED, first aid kits, blood born pathogen kits and exit lights), executing required inspection schedules.
Ensure emergency power sources and switches for facilities are operating properly using monthly inspections.
Assist in community and promotional functions as required to support Brunswick EMC's initiatives in establishing good community relations and growth in our service area.
Utilize proprietary software and programs to install and maintain surveillance cameras, as well as electronic physical security devices. Detect faulty operations, materials and security fencing/gates and report all unusual conditions to supervisor.
Other Duties:
Keep well-informed about all cooperative programs and services.
Assist and coordinate implementation of new cooperative programs as needed.
Participate in implementation of special projects for research or development as requested.
Always follow safety procedures and keep work area clean and orderly.
Conduct meetings and demonstrations for visitors.
Perform other similar or related duties as assigned.
