Central Electric Power Cooperative Inc is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Power Supply Contracts Analyst in the Power Supply Department.  This position would report to the Manager of Power Supply Contracts & Audits.

Position Summary:  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in reviewing, drafting, and analyzing power supply related contracts as required. 
2. Conduct comparable analyses or market research to support findings/results. 
3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on Central’s transmission and power supply contracts and the related billings. 
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on market conditions and trends, including:
1. Monitoring activities of power suppliers and counterparties, as needed.
2. Benchmarking peer data with power suppliers, as needed.
3. Reviewing Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North Carolina Utility Commission (NCUC), & South Carolina Public Service Commission (SCPSC) filings/dockets, and other relevant regulatory commissions for the identification of dockets with significant impacts to Central. 
5. Ability to formulate conclusions/recommendations based on supported and reliable data. 
6. Keep abreast of accounting and/or regulatory issues impacting suppliers or other counterparties and communicate impact to the cooperatives to management as appropriate.
7. Perform other incidental and related analyses as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of generally acceptable accounting principles
2. Knowledge of utility accounting
3. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
4. Practical application of analytical skills
5. Interpersonal skills including written and oral communication
6. Highly detailed oriented, a plus
7. Project-management skills, a plus
8. This position requires travel of approximately 10% - 15%.  This includes travel time as needed to attend conferences and training necessary to keep abreast of industry changes as need to perform the job responsibilities.

Education and Work Experience:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related degree required
2. CPA License, MBA, or similar advanced degree preferred
3. 5+ years of electric utility experience preferred
4. 2+ years of contract compliance preferred
