CFC has a need for a Paralegal in the Legal Services group. In this position you will have the opportunity to perform paralegal support for the lending, corporate, loan sale/servicing and member services functions. You will also assist staff lawyers in research activities, prepare loan and security and other corporate documents, clear loan documents and input clearance information into appropriate technology systems. Provide other support services to CFC staff as required to assist and to enhance delivery of member services.
As a Paralegal, you will: • Prepare standard loan and security documents for loans and other credit facilities, applying standard guidelines and evaluating non-standard situations. • Clear credit facilities applying standard guidelines and evaluating non-standard situations and inputs loan clearance information into relevant systems. • File, track and renew UCCs and administer automated UCC database. • Review contracts, opinions of counsel, articles of incorporation, bylaws and other corporate documents to determine whether they meet CFC requirements. • Assist borrowers in the execution of loan and security documents and to understand the provisions of documents to facilitate borrower compliance. • Research and apply Federal and State statutes, as well as procedural and commission requirements, as they affect the company as a whole as well as company loan and security documents and will determine whether regulatory orders are sufficient for loan clearance. • Coordinate documents, issues, workflow and record keeping between internal groups as well as respond to internal and external requests for information in connection with all phases of lending and corporate operations. • Assist in conducting collateral pledging process and maintain record of and process renewals for trademarks. • Draft and coordinate the filing of annual reports for the Company and its subsidiaries with state corporate commissions. • Administer covenant compliance database and assist in review of finance agreements and process for compliance. • Assist in membership application and maintenance process.
To be successful, you will need: • Bachelor’s degree required. • Paralegal certificate or comparable paralegal experience and at least one year of paralegal or comparable experience required, three years of paralegal experience preferred. • Commercial lending or real estate industry experience preferred. • Strong detail orientation and organization skills. • Intermediate MS Office and research skills. • Document management software proficiency. • Ability to learn new software applications, manage applications for internal stakeholders and articulate needs related to such systems to third parties.
