Information Technology Senior Network Engineer – Security (Hybrid work environment)

General Summary
We currently have an opening for a Senior or Level II Network Engineer in our Information Technology Division. The successful candidate will help architect, engineer and support network technologies company-wide (data, voice, telemetry and carrier communication) safe, and efficient operation. A focus of this role will be engineering and supporting network security solutions.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs research and analysis of network infrastructure, network security technologies, and architectures to meet current and future business requirements.
Provides technical support of network infrastructure to ensure operational excellence.
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications):
Senior position requires a bachelor’s degree in a technology related field and 7+ years’ experience engineering network systems OR 2+ years post high school education or applicable training in a technology related field and 9+ years of experience engineering network systems.
Level II position requires 2 years post high school education or applicable training in a technology related field and 2+ years of experience building engineering network systems.
Cisco environment experience with core network technologies is required. Examples: LAN/WAN, VLAN’s, VRF, VPN, BGP/OSPF, wireless networks.
Working knowledge of network security concepts; Palo Alto and/or Cisco firewalls, Cisco ISE, RADIUS, 802.1x, digital certificates, and IDS technologies.
Experience designing and supporting multi-tenant architectures using MPLS, segment routing, DMVPN, and SDN network technologies.
Demonstrated problem analysis skills; ability to make appropriate decision regarding resolution; escalation to higher levels needed on a limited basis.
Proven project management skills to include prioritization, work sequence, scheduling, tools and methodologies. Ability to manage small to medium sized projects.
Proven ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):
Hands-on experience with security solutions such as Next Generation Firewalls, remote access and site-to-site VPN technologies, DLP, Data Security, regex expressions, Web Proxy, SSL Decryption, and TrustSec.
Ability to provide consulting, policy reviews, training, security audits and advisories, as well as support for malware/DDoS attacks, internal compromises, and other malicious events.
Experience with network automation utilizing GitLab, Ansible, Python, or similar tools.
Experience engineering and supporting VoIP and collaboration systems.
Understanding of Cisco UCS, VMWare, and multiple operating systems (Windows/Linux) beneficial.
Experience with Palo Alto Panorama to manage multiple firewalls and security designs.
Experience with meeting Federal NERC/CIP compliance requirements a plus.
