Wolverine Power Cooperative is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our accounting team as a Meter Data Administrator.
As our Meter Data Administrator, you will be responsible for collecting, verifying, and analyzing metering data used for billing and reporting requirements at Wolverine. The Meter Data Administrator will collect energy information from electrical utility meters, RTUs, and external customer site downloads to develop and maintain reports for the identification of data anomalies and evaluation of meter data accuracy. This role will use analytical and data reporting experience to query database information to provide data for internal and external stakeholders' operational requirements. This position will interface with various personnel across many departments to assure accuracy of metering data, to maintain a database of metering statistics, and is also responsible for annual and monthly reports to members.
Some essential duties & responsibilities include:
Collecting, reviewing, analyzing and interpreting data collected from electrical utility meters, RTUs, and external data sources.
Serving as the Super User for MV-90 Meter Management software, resolving issues associated with the software and calling upon technical support when necessary
Coordinating with engineering department on installing and troubleshooting meters
Initiating upgrades and maintenance of the remote interrogation metering system
Utilizing statistical applications and validation, editing, and estimation techniques for interpreting and/or estimating data.
Understanding comparative data trends and integrate benchmark data into analysis and reports.
Creating and managing metering databases to enable robust data analysis for early detection of metering anomalies.
Designing analytical reporting tools to ensure meter data accuracy.
Conducting audits of load and generation data.
Developing and maintaining reports based on stakeholder requirements for data presentation, forecasting, financial projections, invoicing and/or billing.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, computer science, information technology, economics, mathematics, or a similar field and three years of experience in a relatable field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Two years in an electric utility industry with emphasis on database management, tariff administration, energy analysis, and regulatory reporting experience is preferred.
Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills at the level required to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the position.
Able to operate computers and associated programs, Visual Basic, Microsoft Office applications including Excel, at the level required to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the position.
Solid knowledge of electric utility billing systems including Itron MV-90. Must be able to understand and use the computer language associated with these programs. Successful applicant will be required to take offsite Certification classes (MV90).
Strong analytical and interpretive decision-making skills, adaptation of guidelines which may be indirectly applicable, and evaluation of alternatives prior to making recommendations.
Skilled at reading and interpreting contracts, tariffs, and rate information.
