The Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives (AMEC) is seeking an enthusiastic employee who will be responsible for facilitating and maintaining our iPad and Online Voting program, scheduling and presenting employee training courses for our member cooperative and leading our statewide grassroots efforts.
The member services/grassroots coordinator needs to possess strong communication skills using various media including written, verbal, and social media. This individual must have the ability to present and communicate in front of audiences. Some graphic design experience and computer program skills are preferred but not required. This position will report to the Vice President of Member Services.

The Essentials
As member services/grassroots coordinator, you will be working directly with AMEC’s member electric cooperatives on annual meeting elections and employee recruitment/education. You will also work with all other departments within AMEC on specific projects.
You will play a major role in the grassroots efforts on behalf of all cooperatives in the state and be asked to inform, and at times, activate cooperative members on legislative or regulatory initiatives. You will attend and be involved in the planning of youth programs, state fair activities, and association conferences.
Department Responsibilities
The Member Services Department is a very team-based group that works together on all major projects, and we are looking for a motivated, organized, and creative person to join our team. Responsibilities within the department include assisting with annual budget and participating in department activities that include travel.
Other duties will include:
Oversee updates and maintenance of all department websites
Speak at cooperative functions, events, and programs about electric cooperatives on behalf of AMEC
Communicate with cooperatives and produce the statewide cooperative directory
Take incoming consumer calls on behalf of our systems members
Set up information booths at cooperative annual meetings to communicate at the local cooperative level
Create social media campaigns and content on department activities
Assist with coordination of the Youth Tour in Washington DC and the CYCLE Conference in Jefferson City
Attend and present conferences/meetings with related agriculture groups
Work with youth agriculture groups including FFA and 4-H to expand knowledge of electric cooperatives
Education and Experience
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in marketing, leadership, public relations, communications, or related field (preferred but not required)

This position is in Jefferson City and will require some overnight travel throughout the state of Missouri and some out of state business travel.
