Southwest Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation with headquarters in Texarkana, Arkansas, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Vice president of Finance & Accounting, Member Services & Personnel. Salary is negotiable depending upon experience and education.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs and coordinates the work activities of the general office including accounting, consumer accounts, member services and human resources
Responsible for the recording and reporting of financial and statistical information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, Cooperative policy, RUS system of accounts and regulatory authorities.
Establishes and implements methods and procedures for maintaining customer billing and account records.
Initiates and recommends actions relating to employment and dismissal, salaries, benefits, training and safety for those supervised.
Responsible for financial forecasts, cost control and internal audit control procedures for the office.
Performs other duties and job responsibilities as directed and required and is subject to emergency call-out 24/7.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to effectively communicate with the public, membership and employees as well as vendors, auditors and others in carrying out job duties.
Ability to supervise and motivate employees including supervisory personnel.
Ability to plan, organize and schedule work activities.
Ability to interpret and analyze Public Service Commission rules and regulations, Rural Utilities Services bulletins and Cooperative policy and procedure to effectively carry out job duties.
Ability to make and verify computations accurately and quickly.
Ability to be proficient in the use of computers, spreadsheets, accounting analyses software and various software developed by vendors used by the Cooperative including NISC, Tantalus and others.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial and accounting data and to make recommendations based on such findings. Mastery of RUS accounting and general accounting principles required.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Requires working with and supervising general office employees.
Requires working with other departments to reach common objectives and goals
Requires working with vendors, auditors, NISC, RUS General Field Representative and others.
Requires working with CEO in coordinating various accounting, financial and member service activities.
Requires working with Board of Directors in informing them of ongoing accounting, financial and member service activities through oral and written reports.
Requires working with the membership and general public.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
Has overall responsibility for all member services, accounting and human resource personnel.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Prefer an individual with a bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting from an accredited college or university
Prefer an individual with 10 years’ experience performing and/or supervising work directly related to accounting
Prefer an individual with a CPA
Individual must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively organize, delegate and supervise employees.
Individual must be able to work well with others and have an acute consciousness of safety and a positive attitude toward accident prevention.
Experience with an Electric Cooperative is important but not required.
