Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) is looking to hire a full-time Fleet Supervisor as part of the Operations Team located in Fairbanks, AK. GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,261 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 35 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. As part of a team, the Fleet Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the GVEA vehicle fleet to include heavy equipment, trailers, and other engine driven equipment. They oversee the vehicle maintenance program, monitoring and compliance for all licensing, title and registration requirements as well as management of the fuel dispensing function. Some of their essential tasks include specification and coordination of new vehicle purchases, managing preventive maintenance program and assists with inventory purchase recommendations and proper documentation of work activities. They also serve as the subject matter expert on all matters relating to DOT/FMCSA and State compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FLEET SUPERVISOR
Demonstrated coursework in auto equipment mechanics at a trade school.
Associate degree in auto repair preferred.
Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
Valid Alaska driver's license.
Ten years' experience as a journeyman level skilled mechanic.
Five years' supervisory or lead experience in a vehicle shop.
Demonstrated fleet management experience.
Do you have the ability to clearly communicate complex instructions, both in writing and orally? Do you have demonstrated knowledge of diesel and gas engine mechanics? Are you able to achieve goals and meet deadlines under stressful conditions? Can you effectively interact with other employees and members? Do you have demonstrated supervisory skills? WORK SCHEDULE This position typically works 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Additional hours as required.
