Job Summary: Performs cutting and/or spraying of transmission line right-of-way.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: Right-of-Way Foreman or other personnel as assigned
Directs: Such personnel as assigned
Duties and Responsibilities:
Learns and follows the Cooperative's safety rules and work procedures.
Maintains a State of Missouri, Department of Agriculture, Certified Non-Commercial Applicator License of the type and category as designated by management.
Performs transmission line right-of-way maintenance and repair.
Performs earth work grading utilizing both manually operated and powered equipment.
Installs and repairs fencing and gates at substations and transmission line right-of-ways.
Properly operates and maintains trucks, backhoe, tractor, chainsaw, other power equipment, and backpack sprayers.
Climbs trees as a function of aerial tree removal or trimming.
Maintains a State of Missouri Class A Commercial Driver's License with endorsements as designated by management.
Cuts and/or sprays trees, brush and foliage.
Assists in the construction, maintenance, and repair of transmission lines and transmission line right-of-ways.
Assists in clean up of oil spills.
Fills out necessary written reports and records.
Cares for and maintains assigned working tools.

WorkingConditions:
Outside work under various weather conditions and subject to irregular hours and overtime on short notice.
Irregular overnight out of town trips as required by work load and work location.
Exposure to energized substations and lines.
Handling of and potential exposure to hazardous materials, diesel fuel and its vapors, herbicides, poisonous and parasitic plants.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or proof of equivalency.
Experience: Previous related experience is required.
Job Knowledge: Must be able to obtain a basic working knowledge of each of the following: The construction, maintenance, operation and repair of electric transmission line right-of-ways; and RUS right of-way specifications.
Abilities and Skills: Ability to read blueprints, walk long distances over rough terrain, carry heavy objects, operate power equipment and tools, work without close supervision, operate a two-way radio, possess a mechanical aptitude, and learn to work efficiently from tree hooks, rope chair, and aerial lift devices at heights of 90 feet or more.
