The Field Engineering Technician's primary responsibility will be to evaluate member service requirements. This will include property details, geographic features, and existing TCEC (Tri-County Electric Cooperative) infrastructure. The Technician will produce a design for construction along with any supporting documents. Other duties will consist of inspection of overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities of any maintenance jobs needed.
Essential Job Functions
Responsible to work with scheduling technicians for first contact with cooperative members to gain understanding electrical service requirements and evaluate existing electrical distribution facilities.
Develop proposed distribution line extensions and/or upgrades, create electronic staking sheets and perform ROW flagging/field staking of line necessary to supply the requested service. • Perform ROW field investigations, easement research, and related support as needed for project management.
Execute system inspections which will include examination/documentation of pole-line conditions, asset inventory, GPS data collection, joint use contacts, and ROW condition assessment.
Must comply with Cooperative safety rules and regulations.
Must maintain confidential information as required by Cooperative Confidentiality Policy.
Must work well in a team-oriented environment.
Perform all other functions and requirements of the position as may be deemed necessary by the Field Services Director or Manager.

Position Requirements
Education Requirements:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associates degree in relevant field preferred.
Experience:
1-2 years' relevant experience preferred.
Knowledge of GPS equipment, field staking software and Auto CAD preferred. • Must possess and maintain valid Texas Driver License, minimum Class C
Must be eligible to possess a State of Texas Notary ID
Must be able to speak and understand the English language fluently.

Work Conditions: Occasional overtime and after-hours work as needed during major events and for systems upgrades and issues. This position will be needed to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Position may be needed to work in extreme terrain conditions, including but not limited to, highway ROW, high elevations, steep canyons, and creek beds. Position may encounter contact with wildlife while on site including hazardous insects, plants, animals, and other environmental hazards. Position is subject to irregular hours based on unforeseen circumstances and requirements. Position may be subject to travel and overnight stays on location based on need. Position will travel extensively by car or truck throughout the TCEC system.
