Summary of Duties:

• Strategically plans, implements and monitors communication strategy for cooperative initiatives and member engagement; including managing multiple social media platforms, press releases, website content, magazine articles, and podcasts.
• Develops effective external communication channels throughout the Cooperative's service territory. Participates in community and professional organizations to advance the Cooperative's goals and benefit the communities. 
• Strengthens and maintains the Cooperative's brand and image both internally and externally.
• Develops and maintains relationships with media outlets, including newspaper, radio, and television. 
• Creates and managers crisis communication plans.
• Seeks opportunities to leverage communication skills to educate members on the Cooperative's objectives, plans, and programs.
• May assists grassroots initiatives and legislative talking point development.
• This position has supervisory and management responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications or Public Relations.
• 5 years of experience in an electric utility or related industry OR
• 2 years experience in an electric cooperative.
