Valley Electric Association, Inc. (VEA) has an immediate opening for a Lands & Right-of-Way (ROW) Specialist to work in our headquarters located in Pahrump, Nevada.
The Lands & ROW Specialist will be responsible for land permitting, rights-of-way, easements, fee title lands and water rights and acquisition thereof. This position will work with management to design and administrate the Cooperative’s land use strategy, rights-of-way, and interaction with land and permitting agencies.
Education: Associates degree or equivalent in related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Must have three (3) years of experience in land acquisition and right-of-way permitting, or similar experience.
Previous experience in electric utilities with experience using an ESRI-based GIS, NISC’s iVUE, working with the BLM, USFS, FWS, Counties, State transportation departments, and other government agencies is preferred. Alternative equivalencies to this experience and education may be considered appropriate and acceptable at the discretion of VEA.
Knowledge: Knowledge of lands and right-of-way permitting, and the generation of easements is required.
Abilities and Skills: This position requires good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to organize work to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to work independently and perform the activities necessary to complete work assignments described in the position description. Work requires attention to detail and creation of reports and diagrams, which require a high degree of accuracy and detail.
