To maintain the warehouse in such a manner to ensure easy accessibility of materials and supplies and to eliminate hazards, making sure that proper stock level is maintained at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
Distributes materials as defined on work orders, job orders, maintenance, sales, transfers and truck restocking to provide crews and customers with material needed to perform their responsibilities.
Completes paperwork and computer entries documenting receipts and distribution of materials to properly account for materials transactions.
Receives, records, unloads and stores material items in support of District operations.
Performs periodic and annual material inventory counts to assist with inventory control.
Provides custodial services and grounds work for the warehouse and storage yards to provide a safe and orderly warehouse. (excluding the office area)
Prepares packages for shipping to assist in timely delivery and receipt of needed items.
Receives and sorts material and equipment retired from the distribution system.
Delivers material to personnel in the field as required.
Supplies line crews with materials and supplies for work order.
Handles material returns, warranty claims, material shipping problems, backorders, material test report records and payment approvals for material orders to expedite material delivery and use.
Coordinates the purchasing and storing of tools.
Essential Functions
Must be able to weigh and measure materials.
Ensures materials are stored for easy accessibility and that work area is clean and safe, eliminating hazards as appropriate.
Inspects materials, verifies and counts materials received and directs the issuing and retirement of materials for work orders.
Ensures that paperwork is complete, accurate and on time.
Determines and maintains most economical and adequate levels of materials and equipment to assure an uninterrupted flow of materials for daily work by District's employees, outside contractors, and for use in emergency situations.
Maintains records to ensure proper purchasing procedures and conducts physical inventory at intervals designated by the Department Manager or by independent auditors.
Accepts material deliveries and assists with unloading manually and by using a forklift.
Qualifications
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safely rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate effectively with members/owners, supervisors and co-workers.
Basic computer skills including Windows applications are required.
Must have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
Must have a valid Arizona Driver's license and maintain residence within the District's boundaries.
Must not have had any felony conviction or a conviction involving driving while under the influence of intoxicants or drugs.
An exceptional educational background may be considered for a portion of the experience requirements.
Must believe in, be sympathetic with, and be interested in furthering the Districts objectives.
Must possess a strong desire to promote and produce good safety practices to employees and public in general.
Physical Requirements
Primarily office work with approximately 25% of time out of doors and doing physical labor.
Heavy work requiring exertion of up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Reaching and lifting overhead is required.
Job requires standing, climbing, bending, pulling and reaching majority of the time.
Exposure to varying temperature conditions including cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees.
