We are seeking an experienced administrative professional to join our team! This position performs a variety of office support services for the organization to help fulfill our mission of enhancing the value of our members. The ideal candidate has experience working in an office environment, exceptional communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail. They must also have the ability to work collaboratively within the team to help deliver business objectives as well as the ability to work with minimal guidance to accurately prepare a variety of documents and reports.

East River Electric is a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative with a main campus located in Madison, South Dakota. We deliver wholesale power to our members, which include 24 rural electric distribution cooperatives and one municipally-owned electric system in eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. Our members, in turn, power the properties of the member-owners in their service territories.

This job role reports to our main campus in Madison, South Dakota. Madison boasts a family-friendly, small town atmosphere with a wealth of modern amenities including the new Madison Regional Hospital, the high-tech campus of Dakota State University, a thriving community center and more. The town is centered between two lakes, provides recreational opportunities and is a short drive from many of eastern South Dakota's most popular attractions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepares professional presentations.
• Creates/edits a variety of reports, documents, and letters, including mail merge projects.
• Enters data into spreadsheets and databases.
• Assists with coordination of employee safety meetings, training sessions, and events.
• Manages and monitors calendars to ensure required deadlines are met.
• Helps administer the apprenticeship training program
• Assists employees with a variety of office/clerical tasks.
• Coordinates travel arrangements and meeting registrations.
• Posts content to the Cooperative's external and internal websites.
• Assists with coordination of meetings and events.
• Provides backup receptionist duties as needed.

Key requirements include:

• Associate degree in business or related field.
• At least two years' of progressively responsible administrative experience.
• General understanding of accounting and ability to work with numbers.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of tasks.
• High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness of work.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment as well as independently.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using MS Office products, specifically PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
