Provides for technical services assistance inside and outside of members’ homes and/or businesses. Responds to customer inquiries concerning the technical side of HVAC systems, construction service, high bill concerns, low voltage wiring, metering, and back-up generation. Performs load management switch installations, inspections, maintenance, testing, repairs, and removals. Performs on-site energy audits. Has direct face to face contact with the member in the field and/or office. Seeks customer satisfaction by assisting in delivery of the final solution to member issues and complaints. Promotes Flint’s Energy Services programs and products. Promotes good member service through interaction with members, co-workers, general public, contractors, and associate organizations. Conducts occasional energy efficiency interviews with local media outlets. Explains solar energy and answers member questions. Explains the interconnection process for solar array installations. Reviews and approves Interconnection applications and works with members and solar contractors to ensure solar systems meet applicable safety and wiring standards. Ensures all necessary documents are accurately completed and filed appropriately. Provides technical assistance related to electric vehicles and Flint’s electric vehicle rate. Performs related duties and projects as directed by manager.
EDUCATION / TRAINING
Required:
§ High school diploma or equivalent.
§ Two (2) years' technical experience relating to electric energy consumption which includes working with customers face to face in the office or in the field.
§ Specialized courses or training in electrical wiring, metering, and/or residential HVAC systems OR two (2) years’ experience in building construction and/or building science.
§ Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certification OR completion of certification within one year of start date.
§ Computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite software.
Preferred:
§ Low voltage license.
§ Experience working with energy efficiency programs and or services.
§ One (1) year experience installing and working with demand-side management programs.
§ Experience with back-up generator installation and troubleshooting
§ Familiarity with Flint’s service area.

WORKING HOURS / ON-CALL DUTY
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday with one hour for lunch. Must be willing to work long and odd hours in emergency situations and accept after-hours calls and on-call duty as necessary, especially during the summer months and storm restoration.
OTHER
Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license with a verifiable safe driving record (3 yr. MVR required).
Must live in vicinity acceptable to Flint to assist with on-call rotation.
