The Manager of Enterprise Systems is responsible for planning, organizing, maintaining, and managing the staff of the Cooperative’s Enterprise. This position has significant responsibility for providing efficient, dependable, and timely data, software, and workflow solutions that are in alignment with the business objectives of the Cooperative. This individual will plan, coordinate, direct, and design solutions to meet these objectives of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction. This position works closely with all department heads to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support software solutions for all departments within the cooperative. This position is responsible for overseeing the architecture, maintenance, and security of company databases.
Essential Job Functions
Manage Enterprise Department operational and strategic planning, foster innovation, planning projects, and negotiating the allocation of resources
Manage staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all enterprise level applications, database systems.
Maintain integrity, security, and reliability of all Member, Financial, and related data housed in the cooperative’s database systems.
Work with all other departments to define requirements for new application, process, and workflow implementations and guide development decisions.
Direct research on potential application and process solutions in support of procurement efforts to determine feasibility of the needed solution, balance enterprise ERP solutions vs outside applications.
Keep current with the latest data, application, and workflow technologies to determine best practice for both internal solutions as well as application solution partners
Oversight and maintenance of the budget of the Enterprise department
Develop, implement, and maintain data backup, security, and disaster recovery plan to ensure the security of the cooperatives data warehouses
Maintain relationships with outside software, hardware, and contract vendors
Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with the cooperative’s executives, department heads, and end users
Position Requirements
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Technology, or a minimum of 5-10 years equivalent experience.
Experience
MSDBA or equivalent experience of 5 years hands-on experience as a database administrator
7 - 10 years of software and/or technology project management experience
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
Certifications
Laserfiche Gold Certification or equivalent experience and ability to gain certification to manage and maintain Laserfiche Enterprise Content Management system
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of and ability to maintain best practices regarding cyber security, red flag information, personal data security, and employee data security
Possess an excellent knowledge of the practices and procedures and ability to work closely with Accounting, Billing, Business Development, Communications, Engineering, Field Services, Fleet Management, Information Technology, Member Services, Operations, and System Operations to fully understand the requirements of provided solutions
Proficient knowledge of utility enterprise data systems (CIS, FIS, AMI, GIS, OMS, MDM, etc.) enterprise level data reporting systems, and system integration methods.
Strong verbal/written communication skills with the ability to write policies, procedures, and processes
Excellent problem solving, customer service, and presentation skills
Excellent ability influence and make recommendations to end users at all levels of the Cooperative
Be an action oriented, independent, self-starter comfortable working in an unstructured, fast paced environment
Demonstrated experience to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and competing priorities simultaneously with minimum guidance and high attention to detail
Ability to think and work at both strategic and tactical levels as required
Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of compliance, data privacy and cyber security best practices and laws
Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills.
