Key Roles
Engineer II To assist in providing engineering services and support to assigned group. Works under limited direction of more senior individuals in work group. Willingly accepts range of assignments, subject to checks and verification by more expert team members.
Engineer III To provide engineering services and support to assigned group. Demonstrates proficiency of technical expertise in work group area, and developing skills/familiarity in related technical areas. Ability to work independently on most assignments. Willingly accepts range of assignments, subject to limited checks and verification by more expert team members.
Senior Engineer To provide expert engineering services and support to assigned group. To successfully manage assignments in a safe, regulatory compliant, timely, and cost effective manner. Demonstrates robust technical expertise in work group area and related technical areas. Ability to work independently on assignments and provide work direction to staff/contractors. Willingly accepts range of assignments. Serves as a technical representative of EKPC in a variety of public and corporate settings.

Specialties Engineer II • Under limited supervision, develops reports and work plans which recommend action considering short and long-range objectives, economic and budget considerations, etc. • Under limited supervision, develops and coordinates individual project work plans and manages through completion taking needed corrective action. Production – System Engineer, II • Under limited supervision, develops and maintains maintenance basis strategy for respective system. • Under limited supervision, reviews and monitors the Condition Based Maintenance and the Predictive Base Maintenance of their system. • Reviews and contributes input to Systems Work Order Backlog. • Under limited supervision, develops mid and long-term plans for their system. • Responsibility to ensure all information and documentation for system is correct, complete, available, and current. • System Owner will be part of the Outage Management Team. • Under limited supervision, investigates and completes Corrective Action Review documentation. • Analyzes test data, operating data, and plant practices. • Assists in designing plant improvements in accordance with engineering practices. • Assists in preparation of equipment and construction specifications. • Coordinates contractors or staff on project-related work; verifies completed work and recommends final acceptance of the project. • Monitors project during construction start-up and recommends modifications necessary to support project success. • Analyzes, development, and performance of engineered functions of plant betterment activities. Key Requirements
Education and Certifications / Licenses: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program required. Based upon EKPC's business needs, a specific discipline may be determined.
Experience: • A minimum of three (3) years of experience, Engineer II • A minimum of five (5) years of experience, Engineer III • Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible engineering work experience required, and Registered Professional Engineering license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky preferred, Senior Engineer

Working Conditions
Due to 24/7 operational cycle, work outside of normal business hours is required on occasion, with potential to include nights and weekends. • Must be medically certified to wear respiratory protection. Must be able to appropriately don a respirator which would include no facial hair at the sealing surface. • Must maintain a valid driver’s license. • This position is at the power plant with usual office conditions and engagement with plant personnel. • Work in and around operating plant and construction environment where environment demands may include dust, fumes, rough/uneven terrain, variations in temperature, etc. • This position often works at heights. • Regularly lifts up to twenty (20) pounds; occasionally lifts up to fifty (50) pounds. • Must wear personal protective equipment as appropriate.
