Our team in Springfield, MO, is seeking a highly motivated Safety and Health Specialist to join and help us maintain the highest standards of safety and health in the workplace. What would you do?
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend correction actions
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures
Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards
Investigate accidents and incidents to determine the root cause and develop strategies to prevent reoccurrence
Work with leadership and employees to identify and manage safety risks
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field, or equivalent work or military experience
At least 3 years of experience in safety and health, preferably in a utilities or industrial environment
Knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH and NFPA regulations and standards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to travel to our power plant locations approximately 25-30% of the time
