Qualifications may warrant greater starting base pay within the full pay range. Individual base pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the Global Information System (GIS) software by developing and enhancing existing functions and user interfaces in support of the Cooperative’s strategic initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage system interfaces, develop maps and maintain databases and processes
Respond to informational requests from internal and external sources
Monitor mapping applications and databases to ensure that GIS interfaces with other systems
Troubleshoot applications and data using SQL Server Enterprise Manager
Develop maps and information from the GIS Mapping System in response to user requests
Learn and further develop processes for a connected model for the outage management system
Serve as back-up to System Administrator on GIS interfaces to other systems
Resolve user issues with GIS applications
Develop, write and run SQL scripts in databases
Create scripts to automate repeatable GIS related activities
Establish work priorities and activities
Prepare monthly reports
Deploy, optimize and maintain critical GIS systems to ensure maximum uptime
Design, architect, migrate and test new GIS applications and services
Maintain clear documentation of development activities
Train users on newly developed tools and processes
Lead cross functional teams as a subject matter expert in the development of new GIS tools
Design and maintain Web Based GIS applications
Design and maintain ESRI portal applications
Maintain the security of confidential information
Stay abreast of advances in technology
Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Knowledge of computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data or processing information
Proficiency in the ESRI ArcGIS suite of software (ArcGIS Pro/ Desktop, ArcGIS Apps, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS online, ArcGis Server, ArcGIS Api, ArcPy, etc.)
Knowledge of authoring, publishing, serving, training, and supporting ArcGIS applications
Knowledge of SQL scripting
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
Knowledge of GIS systems
Skilled in time management
Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
Skilled in anticipating, identifying, analyzing and resolving conflict and problems
Skilled in the development of SQL databases
Skilled in automation of processes in a GIS environment using Python and other tools
Ability to use computer systems and applications
Ability to integrate and work well in a team environment
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work across organizational boundaries
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in writing
Minimum Qualifications- (Education, Experience, Certification and Licensing)
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Electrical distribution planning and analysis tools experience preferred
Four years programming and developing GIS solutions including ArcGIS Online and ArcServer
Two years programming in Python, Portal, ArcOnline, ArcPro and Arc Application
Valid Driver’s License
