The Coordinator of the Lineman Tech Center is responsible for developing, implementing, instructing, coordinating, growing, and evaluating the electrical lineman program that will result in students’ academic and employment success.
Job Duties:
Manage the day to day activities at the Lineman Tech Center (LTC) ensuring the safety of all students and SCC employees.
Supervise faculty, staff and adjunct instructors at the LTC.
Teach Advanced Lineman, Lineman, and customized workforce classes for the utility industry.
Actively market the LTC program offerings and look for new opportunities to expand the program offerings.
Assist with the recruitment of students to attend all of the classes offered at the LTC.
Develop and revise the training curriculum as requested by the advisory board or to meet industry standards.
Perform annual program review to ensure students entering and graduating from the program have the necessary skills to obtain employment in the utility industry.
Track students in their careers to help ensure success in the utility industry.
Actively participate in internal and external job fairs, open houses, road shows, tours, and other activities as requested.
Ensure all equipment is safe and properly maintained.
Attend departmental and institutional meetings .
Collaborate with the lineman advisory committee and complete requested changes.
Working knowledge of computers and software related to instructional areas including Microsoft Office/Google Suite, data systems, mobile technologies, web conference tools, and social networking.
Maintain certifications, continue professional development and stay current in the field.
Other duties as assigned.
