We are currently lookin for a Journey Lineworker to provide reliable electricity to members by maintaining overhead and underground systems.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Constructs underground and overhead electrical lines. This includes digging pole and anchor holes, framing poles, setting poles and anchors, stringing, sagging, and connecting overhead conductor, opening and closing trenches, installing pad mount switchgear and underground conductor, locating underground cables, determining the locations of faults in damaged cables and performing related tasks on both energized and de-energized lines.
Maintains substations, underground and overhead distribution and transmission lines and other electrical system components by locating faults and repairing or replacing damaged conductor and replacing damaged transformers, breakers, regulators, insulators, meter loops, poles, switchgear and related equipment on both energized and de-energized lines.
Frequently performs various duties related to member service, including reading meters, making service changes, disconnecting and connecting services, patrolling line, testing voltage and other related tasks.
Requirements:
Must have completed a recognized apprenticeship program for Journey Lineman.
High school graduate or G.E.D.
Must maintain a valid Colorado Class A Commercial driver license, pass the required DOT Physical and submit to random Drug and Alcohol testing per DOT regulations.
Be trained and be able to demonstrate proficiency in pole top, bucket and confined space rescue to established standards.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, staking sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Basic mathematical ability such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers, fractions and decimals and the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages and ratios.
