Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. is accepting applications for a Journeyman Lineman or a Pre-Apprentice Lineman at our Willcox, AZ and Benson, AZ locations.
The successful individual will perform climbing and non-climbing tasks necessary in the construction and maintenance operations of overhead and underground electric facilities. These positions involve manual labor such as shoveling, digging trenches, setting poles and back filling and tamping, operating heavy equipment, etc. The successful candidate will safely perform technical work involving performance of all tasks associated with construction, maintenance, and operation of SSVEC's electrical system by performing all line work involved in the day-to-day operation of SSVEC's electric system including transmission, overhead and underground distribution power lines, substations and switching yards, outage mitigation and executing switching programs.
Journeymen Linemen requirements are high school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of Line Worker Apprenticeship program with satisfactory on the job evaluation of skills by SSVEC management. Pre-Apprentice Linemen educational requirements are high school graduate or equivalent. A working knowledge of basic electricity is desirable.
