Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) is looking for an energetic individual as our Accounting Manager or Accounting Supervisor as part of the Finance Team located in Fairbanks, Alaska. These full-time positions earn a competitive starting wage of $103,205-$135,713 Annually. We offer a comprehensive benefit package that includes a Defined Pension, 401(k) match, Health insurance, Life Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Annual Leave, Wellness Program (including fitness reimbursements), Tuition Reimbursements and Flexible Work Schedule.

A day in the life of an Accounting Manager or Supervisor can look like:

Coach, guide, and inspire Accountants by promoting a positive culture welcoming all individuals. Encourage a productive work environment by supporting teamwork and professional development of the Accounting team. Oversee the overall maintenance of the accounting system driving the future of the Finance Division within GVEA. Using your multitasking abilities, supervise the daily activities GVEA's accounting functions ensuring timely and accurate monthly and annual closing processes. Use your talents to ensure the Association's financials comply with regulatory standards including but not limited to GAAP, RUS, DOE, RCA, and the Association's policies and procedures.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field. Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
• CPA or CMA preferred for supervisor/required for manager.
• Minimum eight years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Minimum two years' experience in a supervisory role.
• Demonstrated advanced level spreadsheet experience.
• Experience with enterprise software systems with multiple modules.
