Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the Markets Department in the analysis of electric energy supply strategies, power purchase contracts, project development, load trends and rates and pricing strategies in support of the Cooperative's strategic initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform quantitative analysis of historic market pricing data, load data and other factors that drive the strategic decisions for the cooperatives power supply
Utilize existing models and tools to automate, increase accuracy and expedite analysis
Support the Markets Department with database queries, cleaning and formatting of large amounts of data
Actively manage the Markets Department data sources
Interface with the Cooperative's IT department to create efficiencies
Develop analytical techniques used in the economic analysis of various supply options and contracts
Identify sources of appropriate economic demographic and load data, design studies to collect and analyze pertinent information in support of load and revenue forecasting activities
Analyze and interpret load data to understand customer usage patterns for use in forecasting models, rate design and energy services offerings
Compare forecast performance with actual results, explain variances and recommend changes for future forecasting cycles
Assist with market impact analysis based o Nodal Protocols Revision Requests
Support the data requirements for the cost of service study, rate plan, power supply plan, and other Markets department projects
Manage regulatory reporting requirements as assigned
Monitor electric market data and factors, regulatory changes and competitor's rate offerings
Develop and maintain critical information, history and databases
Provide routine and ad-hoc reports and analysis
Develop presentations and reports
Maintain the security of confidential information
Stay abreast of changes in technology
Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
