Join a great team as a Mechanical Technician II at the ODEC Wildcat Point Generation Facility in Conowingo, Maryland! The Mechanical Technician handles routine maintenance and repairs on plant systems and equipment at one of the cleanest natural gas facilities in Maryland. This impactful position works varying hours in both a team environment and as an individual contributor performing various support functions while incorporating safe behavior into all activities and consistently complying with all established environmental, safety, and health policies and procedures.
Essential responsibilities include:
Competently maintains the facilities mechanical equipment including all associated auxiliary and support equipment.
Ensures the plant is maintained in compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, ODEC policies, and procedures.
Performs duties while following all Safety, NERC, and Environmental standards and regulations.
Performs preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all mechanical systems and equipment and coordinates work with other departments and contractors.
Coordinates work with other departments & contractors
Incorporates safe behavior into all activities and consistently complies with all established environmental, safety, and health policies and procedures
Maintains the facilities mechanical equipment including all associated auxiliary and support equipment
Troubleshoots and monitors plant mechanical equipment and systems
Supports the computerized maintenance management systems
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assigned areas and provides training to other plant personnel
The Mechanic Technician typically works the day shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), however will need to be able to work overtime, irregular hours and on short notice, an adjusted work schedule, based on plant requirements.
Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidate will have a minimum 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Technician and 5 years’ in power plant operations

Ability to effectively problem solve
Ability to safely operate equipment
Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:
Combined Cycle experience preferred
Beginner level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, Outlook and OneDrive
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
Licenses Required: Valid driver’s license
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Work outdoors for long periods of time while exposed to various weather conditions
Walk on uneven surfaces and stack platforms and climb stack ladders hundreds of feet high
Distinguish colors and accurately read and interpret instruments and gauges
Hear and understand audible alarms and detect changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communication
Occasionally work in confined spaces
Occasionally lift and or move objects up to 50 pounds
Travel details: Occasional travel via commercial airline or automobile
