Farmers Electric Cooperative is currently searching for a Fleet Mechanic to join our growing team. The fleet mechanic will work on all cooperative vehicles and equipment including inspections, diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, maintenance, stocking of parts and recordkeeping. Experience performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery is needed. The ability to inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other vital parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition, is necessary.
The desired candidate should have the ability to follow set policies and procedures, uphold organizational values, and work with ethics and integrity. The ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyzes information skillfully, develop alternative solutions and work well in group problem solving situations is necessary for success.
Experience with hydraulics and diesel is preferred. Candidate must have or be able to obtain a valid Texas Class A CDL upon hire. Requirements include a high school diploma and a vocational auto mechanic certification. An Automotive Service Excellence Certification is preferred.
This position earns a competitive salary based on experience and all levels of experience are encouraged to apply. This position typically works at our Greenville, Texas office Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with occasional overtime and travel less than 10% of the time.
