Position Summary
This position is responsible for maintenance, repair, modification and accessory outfitting on all company vehicles and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•
Ensure that equipment is ready and available for use by inspecting, making repairs and testing vehicles
•
Complete vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance, i.e., engine tune ups, oil changes, tire rotation, wheel balancing and filter replacement
•
Coordinate and schedule vehicle maintenance work to the approved vendors
•
Manage parts inventory
•
Coordinate road service and vehicle recovery with approved vendors and contractors
•
Verify serviceability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems
•
Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety and combustion control standards
•
Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing
•
Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs
•
Maintain shop tools and equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshoot breakdowns, maintain supplies and perform preventive maintenance
•
Control maintenance and repair costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options
•
Recognize training needs and communicate them to the supervisor
•
Maintain supplies inventory by placing orders and verifying receipt of materials
•
Maintain awareness of changes that affect the mechanic industry
•
Maintain the security of confidential information
