Job Summary
The Energy Management Technical Specialist is LPEA’s technical expert in the field of energy management. This position is a technical subject matter expert on beneficial electrification technologies, energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, smart buildings, and electrification technologies such as heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and other electric appliances. This position develops, promotes, and implements LPEA’s technical outreach with members, partner organizations, contractors, builders, and vendors to promote beneficial electrification and energy efficiency.
Essential Functions
Build, grow, and maintain LPEA’s technical outreach and education program to increase the uptake of beneficial electrification and energy efficiency technologies across LPEA’s service territory.
In conjunction with partners, facilitate and lead a regular and targeted series of beneficial electrification trainings and events to meet the educational and development needs of relevant LPEA stakeholders.
Lead LPEA’s efforts to create tools (online calculators, cost-comparison guides, etc.) and training resources (webinars, events, info packets, etc.) to encourage the installation of beneficial electrification technologies across LPEA’s service territory.
Support in the member-facing implementation of LPEA’s DER programs, including program design, promotion, implementation, tracking, administration, and process development.
Improve the administrative efficiency, database development, and member communications around LPEA’s energy management programs.
Support in rebate processing and member calls as needed.
Act as a subject matter expert and advisory support for LPEA’s energy management programs.
Maintain an expert level of knowledge of subjects pertaining to energy efficiency, beneficial electrification, electrification technologies, DERs, and the electric utility business in general and provide this information to members when needed.
Assist with the coordination of community outreach activities.
Assist in the development of educational and public relations programs.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
Minimum
Five years’ experience in energy management, energy efficiency, beneficial electrification, or related field(s) and Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Public speaking and/or group training experience
Customer service and relationship management experience
Preferred
5 years' experience in program and project management
Knowledge of heat pumps and other heating system technologies
Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from a four-year college
Compensation
Annual pay rate- $36.68- $45.17
