Hybrid Remote Schedule
This role has the option to be a blend of remote and onsite work if department and business needs allow and with approval from direct supervision. Our hybrid remote work schedule combines three (3) days on premises with up to two (2) days remote.
Key Roles
The Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Program Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing various DER programs and projects for EKPC and the owner-members. In addition, this position is responsible for managing vendor relationships to ensure optimum program performance, provides DER program expertise and training to owner-member staff and trade allies, and serves as technical expert for DER programs and to the owner-member staff.
Key Responsibilities
Designs, implements, and manages various DER programs.
Consults and assists owner-members regarding their specific residential programs including heating/cooling, water heating, appliances, direct load control, new home construction, energy audits, solar, energy storage, electric vehicles, industrial interruptible, thermostats, etc.
Oversees the direct-load control contractor including call-center auditing, technician scheduling, property damage claims review, and contract negotiations.
Works with the Evaluation, Measurement, and Verification (EMV) evaluator in PJM program reporting, program evaluation, and contract negotiations.
Works with staff to set program goals and milestones to achieve program objectives identified by leadership and the owner-members.
Expert user of DSM tracking and demand response software programs, and assists owner-members with utilizing EKPC DSM tracking software.
Advises on new and existing DER programs in the DSM tracking software.
Develops program design, guidelines, vendor contracts, procedures, and training plans for the program vendors, trade allies, and/or owner-member energy advisors.
Provides technical expertise to EKPC marketing to assist in developing program support materials, marketing plans, and communication plans.
Assists with transition from DRMS to Distributed Energy Response Management System (DERMS), communicates issues to vendor, and maintains resolution status.
Facilitates interaction between vendors and EKPC staff for the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP).
Participates on regional and national committees pertaining to DER programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
Education: Bachelors of Science degree (math, accounting, economics, etc.) preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
Able to patiently and clearly train others on DER programs.
Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills, including effective public speaking and presentation skills.

Usual office conditions apply to this position.
Regular lifting up to ten (10) pounds and occasional lifting up to twenty (20) pounds.
Some travel within the system and occasional out-of-state, which may be overnight.
Must maintain valid driver’s license.
