Hybrid Remote Schedule
This role has the option to be a blend of remote and onsite work if department and business needs allow and with approval from direct supervision. Our hybrid remote work schedule combines three (3) days on premises with up to two (2) days remote.
Key Roles
This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating Power Delivery Maintenance activities for service centers to ensure reliability and efficiency as it relates to transmission/distribution substations and transmission lines. In addition, the Planner is responsible for the efficient use and continuous improvement of the associated computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) relating to all of EKPC's electrical system.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities for transmission/distribution substations and transmission lines.
Analyzes all maintenance work orders for accuracy and completeness and follows-up with work order initiators as needed to ensure complete scoping and proper prioritization.
Develops a running schedule of job plans/packages for all services centers to ensure maximum utilization of resources on the highest priority and valued work.
Ensures the timely procurement of all parts and tools required for work execution.
Prepares planned job packages for all maintenance work orders for both outage and non-outage projects, ensuring the inclusion of parts availability, personal protective equipment needs, potential job hazards, special tooling needs, service center resource needs, equipment isolation requirements, and permit needs, etc.
Reviews work requests, ensures proper and adequate information is available to plan and complete the work requested.
Assigns necessary budget codes and equipment ID¿s to work requests and coordinates assignment of priorities, manpower estimates, craft assignments, and work schedule.
Works closely with service center employees, other departments, plant personnel, cooperatives, and contracted resource supervisors on assigned outage and non-outage projects.
Ensures the effective execution of all predictive, preventive, and conditioned-based maintenance activities.
Monitors status/progress of projects and open work orders; ensures their timely completion and accurate closure.
Communicates and elevates safety and environmental-related work orders in weekly scheduling meetings.
Monitors and tracks work order backlog of all service centers and ensures timely scheduling of high priority and high valued work. Makes resource recommendations as needed to ensure that backlog is optimized and under control.
Establishes and maintains equipment histories by ensuring proper documentation of equipment codes, failure codes, and trends. Analyzes history and failure trends to improve equipment performance and optimize maintenance costs.
Provides training to technicians on the use of the CMMS and its enhancements.
Works with internal and external experts to develop maintenance templates and the basis (strategies) for each component of the transmission system. Completes regular reviews and updates of these templates.
Monitors the maintenance inspection programs for all transmission facilities to ensure consistent and reliable operation.
Ensures the consistent and standardized operation of the system at all transmission facilities and with all field teams.
Monitors the progress on each action plan to assure implementation of improvement efforts; automates collection of data and user reports for this process.
Works with the Reliability Team to create a schedule for monthly inspections and maintenance work.
Monitors progress and works with supervisors to provide corrective actions to allow for better schedule adherence. Develops the CMMS to simplify and automate this process.
Places documents with standardized inspection and maintenance procedures for completing tasks into the CMMS program. Establishes the use of these procedures throughout each Service Center. Develops a review process to allow worker input for improvements in procedures.
Develops process for tracking O&M costs including standards for types of work tracked in the CMMS and time entry that is standardized for all service centers.
Develops work close-out procedures in the CMMS to provide information to be used for future work process improvement. Provides training of technicians to standardize this process across Service Centers. Based on information collected, reviews inspection and maintenance intervals and makes recommendations for improvement.
Audits system integrity regularly to assess and resolve deficiencies.
Ensures work order and inspection history retention methods are adequately documented and archived.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
Education: Associates Degree in related area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
Experience: Seven (7) years of related experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledgeable in electrical, mechanical, and control systems and equipment relevant to transmission and distribution substations.
Knowledgeable of substation and line maintenance activities and what is required to perform tasks (hazards/timelines).
Able to understand schematic drawings, instruction manuals, and equipment specifications.
Proficient in the use of specific software applications including Microsoft Office-based programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills; interacting with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Ability to learn, use, and become proficient in the computerized Maintenance Management System (Cascade/GIZBIZ) to maintain & organize maintenance records.
