Summary:
Direct contract underground and/or overhead construction crews. Coordinates construction/maintenance work found during pole or underground inspections and treatments. Coordinates the maintenance and replacement of distribution equipment as needed. May be responsible for transmission facilities. Coordinates the safe and proper construction of contract work orders.
**This position reports to the Operations Manager. **Must live within a 30-minutes driving distance to the Youngsville office, and hold a valid CDL license with Trailer Endorsement.
Principal Duties:
Ensures effective and efficient direction of all contract crews, effectively monitoring the daily workloads and scheduling ensuring that all contract resources are effectively used at all times.
Personally makes frequent field checks of work in progress for all contract crews and schedules inspections and certifications of completed work and also additional inspections of work in progress.
Promptly advises the Manager of Operations of problems and concerns within the contract resources.
Requires strict adherence to all established safety rules, regulations, and standards.
Works with the Line Inspector in Engineering to review and perform the final inspection on all completed work in a timely manner.
Be able to direct and personally perform Standard First Aid and CPR.
Understand and personally perform all duties in accordance with applicable safety rules and the cooperative policy manuals as well as effecting adherence to such rules on the part of all employees assigned to his coordination.
Reviews staking sheets before released to construction to ensure contract crews are allotted proper material and direction to avoid re-work.
Review completed work orders and coordinates material quantity issues with the warehouse supervisor to ensure prompt closing of work orders.
Routinely inspects mapping updates to ensure accuracy for the outage management system.
At this time this position will be for Underground Construction, however Overhead experience is preferred due to the possibility of rotation in the future.
