We currently have an opening for a GIS Data Analyst in the Engineering Department.
This position reports to the GIS Supervisor. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Keeps current understanding of NESC rules and regulations for inspection of Boone Electric Cooperative’s distribution system.
Maintains appropriate documentation and generates custom reports for various internal and external related questions and concerns.
Maintains a high level of performance by successfully scheduling and organizing daily activities.
Efficiently and effectively utilizes Boone Electric Cooperative resources for field-based workflows.
Assists Field Engineers with staking of line extensions and system improvements of Boone Electric Cooperative’s distribution facilities.
Performs “as-built” field checks of Boone Electric Cooperative’s existing and new line construction.
Field checks overhead and underground construction to update GIS databases and systems, as well as appropriate paper maps and circuit diagrams.
Utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software for analyzing data and building visual exhibits for Boone Electric personnel.
Maintains SQL Servers, related applications and interfaces which are utilized in field and analysis products.
Designs, writes, and debugs programs for internal use by utilizing best practice methods to support utility operational efficiency.
Pilots and maintains Cooperative Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for mapping and inspection purposes.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities required or preferred for this position:
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field is required, a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Ideal candidates would possess three years of progressively responsible experience in metering, engineering, construction, maintenance, inventory, or inspection of electric distribution lines.
Must have in-depth knowledge of GIS systems, programming methodologies, languages, database systems, and SCADA systems
Experience with developing, maintaining, and using relational database models is preferred. ESRI-based or similar GIS platforms and AutoCAD Map experience are preferred.
Candidates must be able to perform duties of the position by walking, climbing, bending, stooping and kneeling in natural, outdoor terrain of all types. Must be able to move and load materials in the completion of duties and lift up to 30 pounds.
A valid Missouri Class “E” driver’s license is required and must have the ability to safely operate an off-road ATV
Regular, predictable attendance is required. This is an in-office position. Overtime may be required. A criminal background check and drug test will be conducted after a job offer is made. Boone Electric Cooperative is a drug-free workplace.
