Position summary:
Responsible for providing information to consumer-members, elected officials and other groups to promote the cooperative’s core values within the communities served by the cooperative.
Position responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain contact with all civic groups, community organizations, schools and community-based groups.
- Responsible for communicating and building relationships with local, state and national elected and appointed officials to create effective partnerships with local governments and agencies.
- Serve as primary liaison with key commercial, industrial and critical infrastructure customers.
- Work to build coalitions with other groups/associations that will enhance the image of the cooperative.
- Identifies government programs that can provide member assistance and economic development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of experience in public relations, customer relations or similar position.
- Knowledge and ability to use Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and other computer applications.
- Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences orally (presentations and meetings) and in writing.
- Ability to take complex issues and make them easy to communicate/understand.
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- Prior Cooperative experience
