Farmers Electric Cooperative is looking to hire a full-time Engineering Aid to join our cooperative team. The work produced by an Engineering Aid will assist in determining the design of the electrical systems being built by one of the fastest growing electric cooperatives in the nation. This position is the perfect fit for someone who is looking for a career in a fast paced environment that allows them to do something besides sit behind a computer screen all day. As an Engineering Aid the majority of your time is spent working outdoors. The position is the perfect combination of independent and team work with a strong focus on customer service to our members. As the public face for the company, the Engineering Aid is responsible for providing a superior customer service experience to our members from start to finish. With attention to detail you will apply field engineering methods to assist in the layout and design of overhead and underground distribution power lines, prepare staking sheets/sketches for construction, and/or Right of Way projects.
This position requires an Associate Degree in related field or High School Diploma with working experience and knowledge in staking/sketching/designing for an electrical distribution/transmission utility or related field. Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design, surveying instruments, and post-secondary courses in algebra, trigonometry and geometry are highly desired. This Engineering Aid position earns a competitive salary. This position typically works Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional overtime and travel less than 10% of the time.
